Minority Business Development Accelerator Open

Applications are being accepted for the 2021 Minority Business Accelerator (MBA) Program. The program is organized by the University of South Alabama, Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce, Innovation Portal and Small Business Development Center and funded by PNC Bank. The nine-week training program for minority entrepreneurs begins on August 26 and runs through October 28 on Thursdays at 5:30-8:15 p.m. at a location yet to be determined. Five minority entrepreneurs will be selected to participate. In addition to education, they will receive a small participation stipend and compete for in-kind prizes at a business pitch competition. The winner of this “graduation pitch” earns $10,000. Businesses must be 51% minority owned and operated, make less than $400,000 in revenue and have been in business for at least one year. For more information, contact Don Mosley at email or call 251-460-6730, or contact Danette Richards at email or call 251-431-8652.
