New Coastal Conversation Announced

MOBILE, Ala. — Coastal Conversations will launch a program called “The Basics: A Strategy for Whole Communities” for Coastal Alabama on October 18 at 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Gautrelet Room at Spring Hill College in Mobile. The event will feature Dr. Ron Ferguson, founder and president of the Basics Learning Network, to kick off the newest Basics program, which is being led by United Way of Southwest Alabama. The strategy he will detail is intended to raise awareness of early childhood development and build capacity throughout communities. It is focused on five science-based parenting and caregiving tenets that support social, emotional and cognitive development of children from birth to age three. Lunch will be provided to those who register by October 14.
