SAWDC: Child Care Summit, Career Fair Planned

MOBILE, Ala. — The Southwest Alabama Workforce Development Commission (SAWDC), Alabama Partnership for Children and Mobile Chamber will host a Child Care Summit on October 4 at 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at Goodwill Easter Seals at 2448 Gordon Smith Drive in Mobile. Challenges with childcare will be discussed, and attendees will work together on solutions for a stronger workforce. Lunch will be served by Naman’s Catering. SAWDC also announced its partnership with the Gulf Coast Challenge and Mobile Chamber to host the Gulf Coast Challenge College and Career Fair on November 9. The fair is designed to create an opportunity for high school seniors to explore colleges and programs available post graduation, as well as talk to industry professionals about regional high-growth, high-demand jobs and how they can acquire them. Companies interested in participating in the fair are asked to return page 2 of the announcement by September 27.
