Temporary Emergency Worker Grant Available
The Southwest Alabama Partnership for Training and Employment (SWAPTE) has announced a grant to provide financial assistance to businesses needing to rebuild their workforce and employment for individuals not or no longer receiving unemployment insurance. The program identifies jobs that can be filled quickly. “This opportunity will help those businesses access funding with minimal turnaround time and help job seekers with a temporary source of income,” said Sydney Raine, SWAPTE president. “Companies who didn’t qualify or couldn’t access funds through the Paycheck Protection Program should consider this grant opportunity.” Temporary emergency workers will work no more than 240 hr total and no more than 40 hr per week. Companies may refer individuals who were laid off from their company for these positions.
