Disaster Resilience Forum Coming To Mobile

The Mobile Chamber, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation and Allstate are hosting a Disaster Resilience Forum in Mobile on November 3 at 8-11 a.m. at The Battle House Renaissance Mobile Hotel & Spa in Mobile. The event aims to bring together business, government and community leaders to discuss how to better prepare for and respond to costly disasters. Speakers and participants include representatives from each hosting organization, state and local officials, and business and nonprofit leaders. Findings from Beyond the Payoff, a new report from the U.S. Chamber, the U.S. Chamber Foundation and Allstate that underscores the economic cost of underinvesting in resilience, will be highlighted. For Mobile, research shows each $1 of investment in resilience and disaster preparedness reduces a community’s economic costs after disaster strikes by more than $14.
