Eastern Shore Chamber Launches Website, Announces Summit
The Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce has launched a new website in an effort to make it easier for members to register for upcoming events, find ways to get involved, take advantage of marketing opportunities and learn about member benefits. Now, members may submit job openings directly on the website. They may also find business resources like links to each city’s tax offices, directories for elected leaders and access to counseling and support. Job seekers, students and existing businesses may now access hiring and training resources, and there is a new Young Professionals Page for members under 40.
The chamber’s Young Professionals group is holding its summit on June 25 at 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. followed by Networking at Bucky’s Lounge at The Grand Hotel Golf Resort & Spa in Point Clear. The keynote speech will be “Community Building” by D.C. Reeves, chief entrepreneur officer at The Spring Entrepreneur Hub and founder of Perfect Plain Brewing in Pensacola. Additionally, Dr. Gia Wiggins of Morale Resources will speak on “Managing Conflict with Tact,” and Joel Hughes of Troy University will present “Generational Differences & Building Cohesive Teams.” Other topics are LinkedIn by Frank Oprandy, director of Auburn Graduate Career Services; networking by Kevin Mohler, Strategic Life Design & American Autism Center; and a panel on building success with S. Wesley Carpenter of Merrill Lynch, Sid Sexton of Sexton Landscaping, Kelly Finley of 92Zew and KFin Productions, and Jennifer Jenkins of JJPR Agency. Admission is $50.
