Eastern Shore Chamber To Host Cybersecurity Talk

DAPHNE, Ala. — The Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce has announced “Cyber Security with Brent Panell” for its next Eggs N’ Issues event, taking place on September 14 at 7:30-9 a.m. Panell is co-founder and CEO of ControlAltProtect in Hoover, Alabama. He holds a BA in corporate business management from the University of Alabama and has gained data security experience at Target, Regions Bank and Maridan Corp. His 20 years of experience include IT, cybersecurity, legal (expert witnessing) and law enforcement partnerships. He will explain how criminals steal data, compromise businesses’ customers and put businesses’ reputations at risk. The goal is that, by providing a better understanding of cybersecurity, attendees will be able to assess if their current IT company is adequately protecting their data or if they are vulnerable.
