May 15 Proclaimed “Lemonade Day”

Orange Beach mayor Tony Kennon, Foley Mayor Ralph Hellmich and Gulf Shores Mayor Robert Craft recently proclaimed May 15, 2021, as Lemonade Day Coastal Alabama. The Coastal Alabama Business Chamber and South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, both in Baldwin County, have run the local version of the Houston-based national educational program since 2018. Students in kindergarten through fifth grade may attend various workshops on topics such as recipe development and lemonade stand building leading up to the event, which will see them run their own stand at a designated location in the community. Parents, business owners and community leaders looking for more information on the program are encouraged to contact Penny Hughey at email or phone: 251-968-7220.
