The Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business First program will be hosting a virtual employment law meeting on August 27 at 11 a.m. In “Developing Best Practices in Response to the Pandemic,” Day Peake and Phelps Dunbar will be discussing recordkeeping, an overview of the guidelines set by the Alabama Department of Labor and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the potential for parents with schoolchildren to get paid leave. Additionally, the chamber is kicking off  Forum Alabama, a virtual event featuring elected officials, next week. The first is on August 18 at 10 a.m. featuring Senator Doug Jones. Finally, its Business Expo is still planned for the Mobile Convention & Civic centers on November 5.
