Mobile Chamber Honors Minority-Owned Businesses

MOBILE, Ala. — The Mobile Chamber recently honored three minority-owned businesses for their achievements and contributions to the community and local economy at the 25th Annual Eagle Awards. Honest Air, LLC of Saraland, started in 2015 by Nicholas Powe, is a heating, ventilation and air-conditioning company that hosts back-to-school and holiday giveaways for local youth. SoldByEllisG, started in Mobile in 2018 by Ellis Foster, is a real estate company working on creating affordable housing options by utilizing grants and funding options to breathe new life into blighted properties. Leaf & Petal Florist, LLC, has been a Mobile business owned by Robert Bryant and his family for 26 years. This is the third time Leaf & Petal has won the Eagle Award. This achievement got the company into the Eagle Award Hall of Fame, in which only four companies have been inducted. Finally, Alabama Media Group was awarded the Rev. Wesley A. James Minority Business Advocate award, which recognizes advocacy, commitment and support for minority business development. In addition to offering marketing education, mentorships and seminars to minority groups across the state, Alabama Media Group has donated $40,000 worth of advertising to launch the Mobile Chamber’s Quick Connect Supplier Diversity Directory.
