Mobile Chamber Names Award Finalists

The Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce has announced Bama Pest Control, Easy Heating & Cooling and Silver Ships as finalists for its Small Business of the Year Award. Based in Mobile with eight employees, Bama Pest Control serves commercial and residential customers in Mobile, Baldwin and Washington counties. Also based in Mobile with eight employees, Easy Heating & Cooling services, repairs and installs heating, ventilation and air-conditioning equipment for residential and commercial clients. Based in Theodore with 70 employees, Silver Ships builds aluminum work boats used for fire/rescue, law enforcement, military operations, surveying and more. All finalists are family-owned companies. The chamber said a volunteer panel experienced in management, finance and business development graded entries on a handful of criteria in the categories of business operations and impact, financial position, innovation and entrepreneurship, customer service, market strategy and community involvement. The winner will be announced on August 25.
