Mobile Chamber Names Eagle Awards Winners

The Mobile Chamber has announced the winners of its annual Eagle Awards, which recognize the accomplishments of local minority-owned businesses. Chris & Carla’s Enterprises Inc. won the Eagle Award, and the Hall of Fame winners were Harper Technologies LLC and Paula’s Hair Unlimited LLC. All are located in Mobile. They will be celebrated at the Eagle Awards Luncheon and Ceremony featuring the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Business Forum and Eagle Small Business Expo on October 27. The expo will begin at 8 a.m., and the forum begins at 9 a.m. The luncheon and ceremony will start at 11:30 a.m. The keynote speaker is Lonnie Johnson, an American inventor, aerospace engineer and entrepreneur whose work includes a U.S. Air Force term of service and a 12-year stint at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, where he worked at the jet propulsion laboratory. Additionally, the Rev. Wesley A. James Minority Business Advocate Award will be presented to a company for its supplier diversity efforts and support of minority-owned businesses.
