The program will honor the achievements of small businesses and highlight their contributions to Mobile’s economic growth. A finalist will be chosen as the Small Business of the Month every month throughout 2024. Qualifications are that the business must be at least four years old and a member of the chamber for three years; have 100 or fewer employees; have a solid financial base; demonstrate sales growth, profit or unit growth, a new product line, an expanding number of employees or innovative initiatives; have evidence of good business practices; contribute to community service; be a privately owned, for-profit entity; and be headquartered in Mobile, Baldwin or Washington counties. The winner will be revealed at an awards luncheon in January 2025 and be awarded $10,000, with each finalist receiving $500. All will be highlighted in a variety of outlets.
