SBCC Names CEO, COO; President And CEO To Retire

The South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce (SBCC) has announced that Travis Valentine, currently serving as SBCC’s vice president of investor relations, will become its CEO and chief operating officer (COO) in January 2025. Valentine has gained experience at SBCC as membership director and vice president of investor relations since joining in 2015. He is a cofounder of the Lower Alabama Young Professionals and, in 2021, recruited a record-breaking number of businesses to SBCC, which is on pace to break that record in 2023. During his tenure, he has connected more than 1,000 organizations with SBCC. He holds a BS from Colorado State University, a Certificate of Non-Profit Organizational Management from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and a Five Star Hospitality Certificate of Completion from Faulkner University. Additionally, SBCC President and CEO Donna Watts will be retiring at the end of next year, in December 2024. Watts has helped SBCC grow since 1997. Before coming to Foley, she was director of the Bay Minette Area Chamber of Commerce, now the North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, for 12 years.
