Southwest Mobile County Chamber Opens Awards Nominations

The Southwest Mobile County Chamber of Commerce (SWMCC) has opened nominations for its Community Impact, Teacher of the Year, Citizen of the Year and Volunteer of the Year awards. The awards are based on the nominees’ achievements in the year immediately prior to receiving the award, as well as their past achievements and ongoing contribution to the community, at a banquet later in the year. The Community Impact Award began last year to recognize a company that strives to make the community a better place. Involvement with local charity/nonprofit projects, making safety and environmental issues a priority, maintaining excellent employment history, and having employee quality and longevity are all qualifiers. Nominations must be in the SWMCC office at 5055 Carol Plantation Road by September 17.
