SWMCC Announces Kids Day

The 13th annual Kids Day is scheduled for children aged four to 12 on July 25 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Tillman’s Corner Community Center at 5055 Carol Plantation Road in Mobile. The Southwest Mobile County Chamber of Commerce (SWMCC) hosts this event to prepare local children for the upcoming school year by providing free backpacks with school supplies and uniforms. It will also include snow cone and ice cream trucks, vendors, bouncy houses, games and a beach ball drop at noon. Sponsorship applications are being accepted until July 2, and vendor applications are being accepted until July 10. More than 50 vendors are expected. Indoor booths are reserved for medical entities offering healthcare for children in attendance. SWMCC is also requesting donations of school supplies and cases of bottled water. For more information or to request a list of specific school supplies needed, contact the chamber office at 251-666-2846.
