SWMCC TALL Program Application Period Opens

The Southwest Mobile County Chamber of Commerce (SWMCC) is accepting applications for the 2026-2027 class of its Tillman’s Corner Area Learning Leadership (TALL) Program through May 22. It offers experiences to empower select local high school seniors who must meet certain requirements. Those selected will receive an SWMCC-sponsored scholarship at the end of the eight-month program. They will also receive experiences intended to help them emerge as leaders and trustees of the community. These will include community service opportunities, tours of local businesses and organizations, financial literacy education from industry experts and civic engagement experiences such as meeting with elected officials at the Alabama State Capitol. Participants will also gain exposure to higher education and leadership pathways through a visit with University of South Alabama President Jo Bonner, along with additional professional and educational experiences. Following the application period, the top 20-25 applicants are selected for panel interviews. From those interviews, eight to 12 students are chosen to participate in the program.
