BGCSA Announces Youth Of The Year Luncheon

Boys & Girls Clubs of South Alabama (BGCSA) has announced Miss Alabama 2023 Brianna Burrell as the keynote speaker for its annual Youth of the Year Luncheon, scheduled for May 23 at 11:30 a.m. at the Renaissance Mobile Riverview Plaza Hotel in Mobile. This program recognizes and celebrates children and youth and provides a platform to showcase their skills, share their stories and inspire others. Honorees were selected from the six traditional clubs based on submitting a completed application, recommendations and interviews with community leaders. Leadership skills, service to others, academics and commitment to a healthy lifestyle played roles in the selection process. The luncheon will showcase youths’ stories about their life experiences and what the Boys & Girls Clubs mean to them. With a passion for science, engineering, technology and mathematics (STEM), Burrell worked as a STEM educator and girls program director at BGCSA’s Bernard Malkove Branch. While working to become a juvenile defense attorney, she still volunteers with Boys & Girls Clubs and recently wrote a children’s book, Investigation Nation: Who Made It?
