Fairhope Rotary Steak Cook-Off Coming Up

The Fairhope Rotary Club is hosting this year’s Fairhope Rotary Steak Cook-Off on May 10 at 7-10 p.m. along Bancroft Street in Downtown Fairhope. General admission is $75, and VIP tickets are $150. Each ticket includes all-you-can-eat steak tastings from more than 30 cook-off teams, beverages (beer and soft drinks) and live entertainment from Avinu. VIP guests will also enjoy entry into a tent featuring gourmet offerings from Pearl Restaurant, sushi from Master Joe’s, desserts from Fairhope Chocolate and wines from Southern Grove Vineyard. High turnout is expected. Proceeds will directly fund local initiatives through the Fairhope Rotary Club, including after-school and summer programs for at-risk youth at the Fairhope Point Clear Rotary Youth Club; four annual, renewable college scholarships for local graduating seniors; major upgrades to Young Street Park, including new dugouts and a large community pavilion; emergency relief trailers equipped with food, water, supplies, washers and showers for disaster response; literacy kits for three elementary schools in Fairhope; a public fitness facility at Stimpson Park; and a new special-needs playground at Fairhope East Elementary School. For more information, contact organizer Chad Clark at phone: 251-776-0895 or email.
