Foley Elks Club To Host Talent Searches October 16-17

The Foley Elks Club will host a local talent search featuring cash prizes for the winners on October 16 beginning at 5 p.m. at 2621 South Juniper Street in Foley, Mullet Wrapper reports. Solo acts, magicians, standup comedians and solo singers will compete for a $300 first-place prize. Admission is $5, and contestant registration is $10. The October 17 Battle of the Bands will start at 2 p.m. at the Flora-Bama Lounge and award $500, a gig at the Flora-Bama, a 2-hour recording session at Red Room Sound Studio and a 2-inch analog demo tape to the winner. Admission is $10, and the registration fee for bands is $20.
