Impact100 Donates To Penelope House

Members of Impact100 Mobile recently voted to award $122,000 to Penelope House. The grant was presented after a thorough review and selection process in which members voted between five finalists, all of whom Impact100 said had demonstrated exceptional contributions to the community. Other finalists were the Boys & Girls Clubs of South Alabama, Dauphin Island Sea Lab Foundation, Home of Grace for Women and Prichard Preparatory School. Members felt that Penelope House, which provides emergency shelter, advocacy and support services to survivors of domestic violence in the Mobile area, stood out for its vital role in supporting those in crisis. The grant will help the organization continue its mission to provide safety, protection and support to the victims of domestic violence and their children through providing shelter, advocacy, and individual and community education.
