Kid Chefs Best On The Bay Planned For January

Nonprofit The Cookery Project is holding the first Kid Chefs Best on the Bay at The Exploreum in Mobile on January 8 at 5:30-8:30 p.m. The family-friendly event will be a “mystery basket”-style cooking challenge highlighting local celebrity and guest chefs working alongside talented kid chefs. Advance tickets are $14 for adults and $8 for children ages 4-12.  Ticket admission includes endless charcuterie, ice cream sundaes courtesy of Cammie’s Old Dutch Ice Cream Shoppe, two drink tickets, admission to the Exploreum’s Body Works Interactive Gallery, music, door prizes, a silent auction and games. Chefs appearing are to include Arwen Rice of Red or White; Chris Rainosek of The Noble South and The Wash House; Jim Smith of Hummingbird Way; Jonavin Murray of Thrive by Chef Jonavin Murray; and Pete Blohme of Panini Pete’s, Sunset Point, Squid Ink and Ed’s Seafood Shed. Funds raised will support The Cookery Project’s mission of instilling healthy eating habits through hands-on cooking classes, nutrition education, food literacy and life skill training to economically disadvantaged youth and adolescents in South Alabama.
