Kiwanis Club To Host Gumbo Championship, Fall Festival

The Kiwanis Club of the Eastern Shore has announced its 15th Annual Best of the Bay Gumbo Championship & Fall Festival will take place on November 7 from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at the Coastal Alabama Community College Halstead Amphitheater at 450 Fairhope Avenue in Fairhope. The championship will bring together local professional chefs, restaurants and amateur community cooking teams to compete across multiple divisions. Attendees will have access to all-you-can-eat gumbo tastings and vote for the coveted People’s Choice Award. Past top competitors in the restaurant bracket have included local mainstays such as Pearl, Hattie’s, Locals and Gambino’s. In addition to the culinary competition, the fall festival features live music by WhiteLang alongside local arts and crafts vendor booths, children’s activities and community treats. Proceeds will directly benefit local schools, youth programs and community enrichment projects throughout Baldwin County. Advance tickets are $17.85 online, and admission at the gate on the day of the event will be $20. Children ages 12 and under are admitted for free.
