Leadership Change At Downtown Mobile Alliance

The Downtown Mobile Alliance has announced that Elizabeth Stevens, founding president and CEO of the nonprofit, will be stepping down from the position she has held since 2005. Stevens will continue to serve as president and CEO emeritus until the end of the year. She will assist with the transition to new leadership in this capacity. Current Economic Development Director Fred Rendfrey will be serving as interim president and CEO until a permanent leader is selected. “Downtown Mobile Alliance has been my home for nearly 20 years,” Stevens said. “I’m so proud of all that we have accomplished, both at the alliance and at Main Street Mobile during the 15 years prior to the formation of the Business Improvement District. Now it is time for me to move on to allow the alliance to transition to its next chapter.”
