Mobile Area Scouts Council Names Campaign Chair

The Mobile Area Council, Boy Scouts of America has announced that Edward “Bubba” O’Gwynn will be the 2022 chair of the Friends of Scouting Annual Campaign. The campaign raises funds for programs for the council, which serves Mobile, Baldwin, Clarke and Washington counties. It is the council’s largest source of income and is supported by businesses, foundations, individual citizens and Boy Scouts’ families. Senior vice president/market president of Truist Financial Corp. (formerly BB&T), O’Gwynn has more than 31 years of banking experience. He led the successful transition for Mobile and Baldwin counties when BB&T acquired Colonial Bank. “I’m excited to serve the Mobile Area Council Boy Scouts in 2022,” O’Gwynn commented. “Scouting has such a strong legacy in Southwest Alabama, and I look forward to being a part of what scouting will do to equip our future leaders.”
