Mobile Walking Tours Set For April

Visit Mobile has announced the return of free walking tours every Saturday in April. The guided tours are designed to educate participants on a variety of topics involving Mobile culture, ecology, art and more. All tours will begin at 10 a.m. and depart from the Visit Mobile Welcome Center in the History Museum of Mobile in Downtown Mobile, unless otherwise noted. They will return around 11 a.m. “Africatown Experience Givers” by Africatown Freedom Tours will be held on April 6 and highlight the legacy of slavery in Mobile, from the arrival of the first enslaved Africans to the rediscovery of the Clotilda. “An Introduction to Brookley by the Bay” by the City of Mobile Parks and Recreation Department will be held on April 13. Its topic is the 98-acre park site located along the western shore of the bay. This tour will meet at 254 Old Bay Front Drive in Mobile. “Mobile Public Art Experience” by the Mobile Arts Council will be a public art walking tour throughout Downtown Mobile.
