Polar Bear Dip On January 1 In Gulf Shores Announced

The 13th Annual Gulf Shores Polar Bear Dip will take place on New Year’s Day at noon, rain or shine, at the Gulf Shores Main Public Beach in front of The Hangout at 101 East Beach Boulevard, Mullet Wrapper is among outlets to report. A beach party starts at 10 a.m. with beachfront entertainment by DJ Saint Nic. The family-friendly event is presented by the Kiwanis Club of Gulf Shores in partnership with The Hangout, The City of Gulf Shores and the Alabama Law Enforcement Torch Run. Attendees are encouraged to dress in wacky outfits. Afterward, there will be entertainment at a party at The Hangout, and those who went into the water will be offered free chili and hot chocolate. Souvenir T-shirts will be sold for $20, and donations are encouraged.
