Alabama Coastal Foundation (ACF) Opens Teacher Quiz Registration

The ACF has opened teacher registration for its 2021-2022 Coastal Kids Quiz for every fifth-grade teacher in the state. Those who meet the minimum 80% participation requirement are eligible to receive $100 for each topic session, decided by a random drawing. Teachers are afforded five opportunities to receive $100 in support of classroom instruction. The schedule for the 2021-2022 academic calendar (with topics) is as follows: September 22-October 13 (Oysters); October 27-November 17 (Weather); January 12-February 2, 2022 (Watersheds); February 23-March 16, 2022 (Coastal Insects); and April 13-May 4, 2022 (Sea Turtles). Announcements of winners will be made the day after each period ends. ACF said that a new format allows more teachers and students throughout the state to gain the knowledge promoted, provides more flexibility for teachers and students to participate each school year by offering five-topic specific quiz opportunities and offers more ways for teachers to receive funding. Those with questions or feedback are asked to email ACF Administrator Pamela Brewer.
