Contemporary Art Center Joins Reduce The Use

Nonprofit Mobile Baykeeper has announced that Mobile’s Alabama Contemporary Art Center has joined the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Reduce the Use Program. "Artists have been making art about the environment ever since they’ve been making art," said Elizabet Elliott, executive director at Alabama Contemporary Art Center. "The great thing about art and artists is [that they help] open our mind and see new possibilities, for both our lived experience of the world and what’s possible in it." Other Reduce the Use partners are the City of Mobile, the Downtown Mobile Alliance and Plastic Free Gulf Coast. The program aims to reduce single-use plastics and is funded by a NOAA Marine Debris Prevention grant. To enlist your business, contact Mobile Baykeeper’s Marianne Gordon at email.
