Dauphin Island Opens West End Beach

Dauphin Island has opened its popular West End Beach after it was closed for more than seven months, Mayor Jeff Collier wrote in The Connection. Upgrades have been made, including an expansion of the parking lot, which can now accommodate more than 200 vehicles. Additionally, a new portable restroom trailer and a variety of vendors will be present. The vendors will offer food, beverages, beach chairs, umbrellas, jet skis, kayaks, paddleboards and more. The beach is open 8 a.m.-6 p.m. daily, and fees are $3 per vehicle to park and $3 per person (ages 13 and older).
