Deer Management Assistance Program Coming To Five Rivers

Alabama Wildlife & Freshwater Fisheries (WFF) has announced that the no-cost Cooperative Deer Management Assistance Program is coming to the Five Rivers Delta Center in Spanish Fort on January 25 at 6-8:30 p.m. The program utilizes site-specific deer harvest data and cooperator education to position landowners/land managers to better manage their lands for a healthy deer herd and wildlife habitat through development of site-specific deer harvest recommendations. It pairs cooperators with a wildlife biologist from Alabama WFF’s Technical Assistance Program to develop site-specific deer management recommendations based on the cooperator’s deer management goals, deer harvest data, habitat quality, and other data. Biologists offer guidance on collecting deer harvest and hunter observation data, habitat management techniques, and other practices necessary for achieving deer management success.
