Department Of Conservation And Natural Resources Opens Request for GOMESA Project Suggestions

The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR) State Lands Division is accepting project suggestions for activities and programs to be funded through the Alabama Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act (GOMESA) Program. Projects and activities for the purposes of coastal protection, including conservation, coastal restoration, hurricane protection and infrastructure directly affected by coastal wetland losses; mitigation of damage to fish, wildlife or natural resources; implementation of a federally approved marine, coastal or comprehensive conservation management plan; mitigation of the impact of outer continental shelf activities through the funding of onshore infrastructure projects; and planning assistance will be considered for funding. While all submittals supporting GOMESA-authorized uses will be considered in evaluating project suggestions, the focus of this request for project suggestions will be sanitary sewer and other associated water quality improvements. Suggestions may be submitted to email by July 30. Questions may be directed to Jeremiah Kolb via email.
