Donation Adds Nearly 80 Acres To Preserve In Foley

The Foley City Council has voted to accept the donation of almost 80 acres from the Forestar Real Estate Group, Gulf Coast Media reported. Valued at $1.4 million, the donation will increase the size of Foley’s Graham Creek Nature Preserve by more than 10%. In two parcels, it sits on the northwest corner of the preserve near the southeast intersection of County Road 12 and the Baldwin Beach Express. The area is a wetland that drains into the park and was unsuitable for the company to build a subdivision on.
