Earth Day Events Announced

Several local events are taking place in celebration of April 22, Earth Day. Earth Day Mobile Bay is a free event taking place at Fairhope Pier Park at 10 a.m.-6 p.m. with Earth-friendly exhibitors and activities, renewable energy solutions and live music. Gulf State Park’s Learning Campus is also holding an event at 10 a.m.-2 p.m. There will be a walk beginning at 9 a.m., archeology and artifacts, live animals and a variety of displays and seminars. Discovery Day at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab will also be held at 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The open house offers a chance to learn about current research and the coastal ecosystem. The scientific laboratories may be explored, and there will be hands-on science lessons and free children’s admission to the Alabama Aquarium. Finally, the Keep Mobile Beautiful/Mobile County Love Your Community Earth Day will take place at the Mobile Japanese Garden, also at 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
