Loxley Stream Restoration Underway
LOXLEY, Ala. — A federal grant will help Loxley officials start work on a project to restore the stream of the Corn Branch tributary in Loxley, Gulf Coast Media reports. A $250,000 Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act grant will pay for the engineering and design work on a project to restore the streambed off Baldwin County 49. It runs past the public works barn and wastewater plant property and onto the grounds of Loxley Elementary School. Thompson Engineering of Mobile will begin designing and engineering the project. It will need additional funding, as its entire cost is approximately $2.5 million.
