MBG Announces 2024 Lecture Series

The Mobile Botanical Gardens (MBG) has announced the 2024 Marion Deane Drummond Lecture Series, kicking off on February 17 with a presentation by licensed landscape architect, author and entrepreneur Mary Palmer Dargan on “Couture Garden Design – May Your Landscape Fit Your Lifestyle Like a Glove.” It continues on March 21 with The New York Times bestselling author, landscape designer, historian, writer and lecturer Kathryn Aalto, who will present on her book, The Natural World of Winnie-The-Pooh: A Walk Through the Forest That Inspired the 100-Acre Wood and on “Writing Wild: Women Poets, Ramblers, and Mavericks Who Shape How We See the Natural World.” May 4 will see horticulturist and nationally known speaker Carol Reese present on “Native Plants: Facts, Fabrications and Foibles.” The day will include the seminar, lunch and an after-lunch interactive session named “Why Did My Plant Die??” Finally, June 8 will have The American Gardener opinion columnist Marianne Willburn presenting “Keep Calm and Garden On: Gardening in the Midst of Climate Change.” Each day begins at 9 a.m. and includes lunch. Season tickets are $125 for MBG members and $150 for nonmembers. Individual lecture tickets are also available.
