National Estuary Program Chooses Communications Manager

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. — Marti Messick has been named communications manager for the Mobile Bay National Estuary Program team, per an announcement. Messick has been teaching Communication courses for the past nine years at area colleges and universities, including the University of South Alabama (USA), the University of Mobile (UM) and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. She also served as director of communications for Foley United Methodist Church. She currently sits on the UM Alumni Board and the USA South Wesley Board. “She will be instrumental in working with our partner organizations to engage key stakeholders and the general public in our shared mission of promoting the wise stewardship of the water quality and living resources in Alabama’s estuaries,” the nonprofit said.
