Osprey Initiative Reaches More Than 1,000 Students In Mobile
Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson recently announced that, due to the city’s partnership with the Osprey Initiative, more than 1,000 students from around the city were given a deeper knowledge this past school year of how litter can negatively impact their communities and nature. An Osprey Initiative team worked with dozens of 6th-grade students at 16 local public and private schools in Mobile. The Litter Literacy program was designed to align with Alabama’s science standards and raise awareness among students about the importance of keeping their surroundings litter-free and the benefits of recycling. “The program is also a perfect complement to our ‘Litter-Free Mobile’ initiative,” Stimpson added.
