Salt Announces Volunteering Opportunities

Nonprofit South Alabama Land Trust (SALT) has announced several upcoming property burns for ecological restoration for which it is requesting volunteers. Storm debris removal/ fire break preparation is scheduled for February 1 at 9 a.m.-noon or at 1-4 p.m. and February 5 at 9 a.m.-noon, both at Weeks Bay Reserve. Another was scheduled for today at 9 a.m.-noon at a Rangeline Road property in Theodore. The burns are to revitalize ecosystems, including those for longleaf pines and pitcher plant bogs.
