SALT Names Executive Director

The South Alabama Land Trust (SALT) of Fairhope has announced that James "Jamie" Marshall has been named its executive director following the retirement of Jane Herndon. Marshall brings more than 25 years of experience in law, real estate, business, organizational leadership and nonprofit service. He spent his career building organizations, leading teams, developing relationships and helping businesses and nonprofits grow. SALT says his background in real estate and law also gives him a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities involved in SALT’s mission of protecting land for future generations. It added that his experience serving on nonprofit boards has given him an appreciation for the importance of strong community partnerships and sustainable fundraising. He will help lead fundraising efforts and capital campaigns while working closely with SALT’s board, staff, supporters, landowners and community partners.
