Sea Lab Plans Anniversary Celebration Over “Alumni Weekend”

The Dauphin Island Sea Lab (DISL) is hosting a 50th anniversary celebration at its facility on November 12 at 6-9 p.m. The event celebrates the decades of marine research and education from DISL and features music, food and sea life. Tickets are $50. The celebration kicks off the inaugural Alumni Weekend, which continues with breakfast at May’s Cafe on November 13 at 8-9 a.m. Family field excursions then begin at 9 a.m.-noon and, following lunch at May’s Cafe, at 1-3 p.m. A “Sunset Cocktail Cruise” will then be held at 3-6 p.m., and a shrimp boil begins at 6:30 p.m. A farewell brunch on November 14 at 9 a.m. wraps up the weekend.
