South Alabama Land Trust Adds to Board

The South Alabama Land Trust has added four members to its board of directors. Brett Gaar of Magnolia Springs is a sixth-generation south Baldwin County native who recently retired from Volkert Engineering, where he was vice president of environmental operations during a 29-year career. Gaar also served on the board of directors in 2006-2011. Walter A. “Trey” Ruch, III of Perdido Bay is a managing member of LibertyFi, LLC, a financial technology consultancy based in Birmingham and a member of the Endowment Committee of The Asheville School in Asheville, North Carolina. Kendall Dexter of Mobile is a graduate of the University of South Alabama and owner of Employers’ Administrative Services Inc., a payroll company that serves Mobile and Baldwin counties. J. Gavin Bender, Sr. of Mobile is president of Bender Real Estate Group, which manages, leases, develops and brokers commercial real estate properties. Bender also serves on several University of South Alabama boards and the Mobile Botanical Gardens board.
