World Sea Turtle Celebration Set For May 23

 Linda Spangrud, author of the popular “Turtle People Series” children’s books, will be celebrating World Sea Turtle Day and the end of the school year at Baumhower’s in Tanger Outlet Mall in Foley on May 23 at 12-4 p.m. There will be food and drink specials and book signings with discounts and turtle stickers. Children’s activities include a turtle scavenger hunt on the patio and turtle balloons. There will be special recognition for Alabama Coastal Foundation Share the Beach Sea Turtle volunteers, and all Share the Beach volunteers wearing their green shirts will be presented with a food coupon. Spangrud has four books in the series, with the most recent release being Young Jack and the Turtle People. A portion of the sales from profits of this book will be donated to the Sea Turtle Conservation Program.
