Uniti Fiber’s Newton Joins Thompson Holdings Board

 Thompson Holdings announced that Andy Newton has joined its board of directors. Newton is president of Uniti Fiber, a billion-dollar fiber optic company headquartered in Mobile. Newton co-founded information technology company Southern Light in 1998. Under his direction as president and CEO, Southern Light grew to become one of the top 10 largest fiber optic providers in the country. Southern Light was purchased by Uniti in 2017. Newton’s term began on November 11 and brings Thompson Holdings’ board count to seven. Newton joins sitting board members Thompson Holdings Chairman and CEO John Baker, Thompson Holdings Chief Legal Officer and incoming CEO Chad Brown, former Dewberry CEO Ron Ewing, former M+W Americas CEO Ron Oakley, Thompson Consulting Services Vice President Nate Counsell and Thompson Engineering Chief Revenue Officer Mike Manning.
