Mobile Area Council Of Engineers (MACE) Honors Award Winners

MOBILE, Ala. — MACE recently announced its annual award recipients at an awards banquet at The Steeple in downtown Mobile. The nonprofit recognizes the success of individuals who enhance the engineering profession through their contributions to the industry, education and the community. The awards recipients are Project of the Year “Expeditionary Fast Transport (EPF) Medical Variant – EPF Flight II; The Future USNS Cody (EPF 14),” Austal USA; Engineer of the Year Lloyd L. Pitts, vice president and chief bridge engineer, Volkert, Inc.; Young Engineer of the Year Jordan Stringfellow, program engineer, Volkert; Chemical Engineer of the Year Kyle Albritton, process engineer III, Hargrove Engineers + Constructors; Civil Engineer of the Year (Posthumous) Lionel Jake Gibbs, senior structural engineer, Thompson Engineering; Electrical Engineer of the Year Robert Kelly, electrical engineering lead, Hargrove; Marine Engineer/Naval Architect of the Year Charlene Matthews, structural engineering lead, Austal; Mechanical Engineer of the Year Mallory Tapley, lead mechanical engineer, Hargrove; Aerospace Engineer of the Year Iwan Aloysius Pangalila, aerospace engineering specialist, Airbus Americas, Inc.; Individual of Special Recognition Micki Kohn, Hargrove; Engineering Educator of the Year Dr. Daniela Wolter Ferreira Touma, assistant professor, University of South Alabama (USA); Society of American Military Engineers Outstanding Engineer Cynthia Henderson; Alabama Society of Professional Engineers Outstanding Engineer Melissa O’Sullivan; American Society of Civil Engineers Outstanding Engineer Charles Weber; and MACE-Raburn Scholarship winners from the USA College of Engineering Tianna Lewis, Bernardo Holloman, Jr., and Joshua Smith.
