Mobile Firms Sign Pact With Guyana Construction Firm
Myer Marine Services and Hargrove Engineers + Constructors signed a memorandum of understanding with Georgetown, Guyana-based GAICO Construction that aims to accelerate the growth of the oil and gas sector in the South American nation, according to Alabama Newscenter. The aim of the agreement is to facilitate a close collaboration with the companies that will spark the development of projects along Guyana’s Atlantic coast. The strategic partnership will enable the transfer of skills and technology to bolster workforce development in Guyana’s growing oil and gas sector, according to OilNow. The Alabama Department of Commerce and Export Alabama Alliance supported the Mobile companies as the partnership was negotiated. GAICO has expanded its operations to capitalize on growth in Guyana’s petroleum industry. It now employs more than 100 people across Guyana, and is involved in the development of the country’s civil works and marine sectors. Most recently, it has been working in the oil and gas sector in the areas of oil spill response and waste management.
