Renovation Work Begins On Lewis Communications Building

According to the Downtown Lowdown, general contractor BCM Morring has begun renovation of the former Kamil Ship Supply on the 500 block of St. Louis Street in Mobile. BBN reported in July 2023 that the building is to be the new corporate headquarters for Lewis Communications. The façade of the 1925 building features decorative brick and tile accents that will be cleaned and restored. The project also includes a modern addition to the west of the original structure, which is an approach the National Trust for Historic Preservation prefers.
