Saraland Awards Construction Contract For Sports Complex

The City of Saraland has awarded the contract for construction services for the infrastructure and majority of outdoor facilities of the new Saraland Sports Complex to Auburn-headquartered Rabren General Contractors. The complex will feature advanced sports fields, multipurpose spaces, and numerous amenities for various sports and recreational activities. The proposal came in under budget with a base bid of $24,818,000. It includes the development of roadwork, site utilities, parking, a maintenance facility, a subgrade for eight baseball/softball fields with VIP concession and restrooms, a hiking path, trails, an event lawn, and five multipurpose fields with restrooms and concessions. According to Ashley-Nicole Flowers, Saraland Parks and Recreation director, Rabren is known for its experience at managing large, complex construction projects statewide on time and under budget. Construction is scheduled to begin in late November and should take approximately one year to complete. The projected completion date for the entire Saraland Sports Complex, which includes the outdoor facilities and indoor recreation center, is spring 2025. Hoar Program Management ran the selection process on behalf of the city and will provide project oversight during construction.
