Thompson Engineering Names New CEO; Additional Promotions Announced

Thompson Engineering, a multi-disciplined engineering firm with offices in eight Southeastern states, announced Kendall Kilpatrick will be the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective January 1. Kilpatrick succeeds John Baker, who will remain CEO and chairman of Thompson Holdings, the parent company of Thompson Engineering. Kilpatrick currently serves as the Buildings and Infrastructure practice leader at Thompson Engineering. Before joining Thompson in January 2023, he was executive vice president and unit general manager for global engineering firm Mott MacDonald. Thompson Engineering announced two additional leadership promotions, also effective January 1. Scott Hardy will become Thompson Engineering’s chief operating office. Hardy is currently senior vice president responsible for Thompson’s Engineering Design Practice. Also, President Michael V. Manning’s responsibilities will expand to include those of Chief Revenue Officer.
