White-Spunner Project Earns National Award

GULF SHORES, Ala. — The Gulf State Park Learning Campus in Gulf Shores, built by White-Spunner Construction of Mobile, has earned the Honor Award from the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Business Alabama reported. The Gulf State Park Learning Campus was designed by ArchitectureWorks of Birmingham in 2018. White-Spunner Construction acted as general contractor on the 26,000-ft2 project, certified Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver. The campus was one of the first buildings in the world to receive Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety Fortified Commercial – Hurricane Bronze Level certification. The first two buildings to earn this certification are also part of Gulf State Park. The AIA award is one of the highest accolades given by the organization, highlighting projects recognized for best practices in the field of architecture and design.
